Research of a novel anti-cancer, immunomodulatory, anti-microbial, anti-oxidative and other biologically active natural peptides, in medicinal plants of Georgia. Identification and study of their physical and chemical properties, biological activities, the molecular mechanism of their action and conduct of preclinical and clinical trials to create innovative medicines.

Since 2000 - Member of Big Research Council of the Tbilisi State University.
Since 2001 - Academician of the Georgian Ecological Academy of Sciences.
In 2003 he was awarded the Order of Honor of Georgia.
Since 2002 - Correspondent Member of the Intercontinental Medical and Social Academy (IAMSS).

He is the author of over 160 scientific papers, two books and 12 inventions.
